Pink Amethyst is a variety of quartz that gets its delicate pink or lavender hue from trace amounts of iron and aluminum within its crystal structure. It often forms in geodes or nodules, as seen in the image.
Origin:
This form of amethyst was a relatively recent discovery, with significant deposits found in Patagonia, Argentina, particularly in the Choique Mine.
While visually similar, Pink Amethyst differs from Rose Quartz in its crystal habit; Rose Quartz typically grows in a massive form and rarely forms distinct crystals, whereas Pink Amethyst forms crystal clusters within geodes.
