Green Wavellite is a secondary aluminum phosphate mineral with a distinctive appearance.
Appearance:
It commonly forms as translucent green radial or spherical clusters, often described as "botryoidal" or "starburst" formations, on a matrix rock.
Color:
While green is the most common and desirable color, wavellite can also be found in shades of yellow, brown, gray, white, or even colorless, depending on impurities.
Occurrence:
Wavellite is typically found in aluminous low-grade metamorphic rocks, phosphate rock deposits, and hydrothermal veins. Notable localities include Arkansas, USA.
